Someone, somewhere, is getting very rich in the Ink Industry. We’ve got an Epson printer, middle of the road in terms of price, function, capacity–we really don’t use it that often. My wife and I both have printers at our jobs, and they’re faster and better than the little printer we have at home. But the number one consideration in deciding if we’re going to print something or not is the price of those freaking ink cartridges.

I personally find it ridiculous and wasteful that buying ink cartridges can cost more than the price of the printer itself. I have friends who have bought new printers (which come with “free” ink cartridges included in the packaging) instead of paying the exorbitant prices to simply buy the replacement cartridges. The cost to replace all four of the cartridges for our printer would be between $120 and $150 if we bought the cartridges from Office Max, Staples, or from Epson directly.

Then we discovered InkSmile.com. We had heard about it from my in-laws, and when we ran out of ink a few months ago, we decided it couldn’t hurt to give it a try.

We just placed and received our third order last week. The cost for each cartridge for our printer? Not $30. Not $20. Not even $10. The price for each of our cartridges is only $6.95.

That’s an amazing price. Admittedly, the cartridges aren’t Epson brand, and that may be where they’re cutting corners somehow…but they’re Epson compatible. We haven’t had a single problem with compatibility, and the ink is of the same high quality that we need for various projects.

The other place where you could get gouged buying online is in the delivery price or speed of delivery; even here, InkSmile.com is fantastic. If your order total is under $40, there’s a nominal shipping fee–usually only $3.95. If you buy more than $40 of cartridges or products, shipping is free. Our last order was placed on a Monday, and we received the cartridges Wednesday. Fast enough for me.

The site is easy to navigate, and you can locate your ink cartridges either from the serial number on your existing cartridges, or by printer make and model. Either way is quick and easy, and was easy the very first time we visited the site. Total time in and out for our first order was probably less than five minutes.

Our orders have always been accurate; I do know of one instance where my in-laws received the wrong cartridges, and exchanging them was quick and simple, and the customer service people at InkSmile threw in a (correct) bonus ink cartridge for the inconvenience. So I have no doubt or hesitation about ordering through them.

With each order we’ve also received a 10% off coupon good for one month from the time of order–we’ve only used one of them, but they’re a great bonus on top of an already good deal. Now you can save 5% using this discount code: 5OFFSMILE.

Try http://www.InkSmile.com just once–you’ll be hooked.
