It seems that ringtone scams are now being targeted by the European Union, and in my opinion it is about time. According to a recent article posted on ITProPortal it seems that the operation isbeing led by the EU Consumer Commission, Commissioner Meglena Kuneva, the operations main objective is to shut-down complete scam-related sites, and to clarify the terms and conditions on others. The operation has already been a success as over 200 websites have either been closed down or forced to change their T&C’s, quite often these websites really exploit the customer base that they appeal to.
