The Motorola Droid was released earlier in the month and since that then, has spent all that time in the spotlight, with Verizon saying that it could take the fight to AT&T and its iPhone. So with the Droid considered to be the biggest challenger to the iPhone, how well has this latest smartphone done.
Freep.com thought that they would revisit the Droid to see how well these past few weeks have been going for the handset since being released on the Verizon 3G wireless network. Having spent a week with the first handset to run on Google Android 2.0 OS, we now get to learn the good and the bad.
Some of the best features include the Turn-by-turn GPS, Web browsing and the Verizon network itself. The good thing with this review was the fact that not one call was dropped; also the browser loaded much quicker that Apple’s iPhone browser.
It is not all good news though; the flip-out, physical keyboard seems pointless in this day and age. The touchscreen keys are more than up to the job, unlike the keypad with its small and awkward to use keys.
The media features on the Droid are hard and clunky to use, making it very hard to organize your music. Freep concludes that that the Droid is a solid smartphone, but is no iPhone. Check out the latest Black Friday offers on the Droid handset.
