When a new handset is launched they are often plagued by a number of issues with its software, this often leads to a rushed firmware update. Owners of the new Motorola Droid and the HTC Eris have recently learned that a new firmware update is coming, but there is nothing wrong with the devices. How often do you hear of a product having a firmware update so soon after release but not have an issue. According to Engadget , Verizon are to launch this new update to try and get the most out of the devices, which is part of their testing program. Verizon Wireless already knows of a long line of issues that they wish to rectify, but none that users will know about. There is a seven page list of updates for the HTC Eris and 5 pages of updates for the Motorola Droid, which is running the Google Android 2.0 OS
